And when you say the turbo soared, can you be a bit more explicit?
If you mean the boost gauge went very high, then it may be fuel-cutoff as Max mentioned. If by "soared", you mean the engine speed rose a lot, then perhaps you have a worn clutch if it's a manual or a faulty transmission if it's an auto.
