The only hoses which could spill coolant into the ventilation system are the ones coming in and out of the heater core. The heater core sits just aft of the aquarium in a little recess, and the hoses enter and leave from its driver's side (U.S.). It would be hard to spot a leak without taking a lot of things apart. You might be able to reach under the windshield wiper motor and feel the hose/heater core junction and see if it's wet. Just make sure it hasn't been rained/snowed on, because precip can get down into that area and you could get fooled.
Having said all that, heater core failures are common. The debate continues about whether to add Bars Leaks at this point. If you do replace your heater core, replace the ventilation fan motor at the same time, if you're planning to keep the car for more than a couple more years. The additional labor is negligible, maybe 30 minutes.
