Just installed the Stage 1 ChipCenter ECU for my -94 2,3 FPT. Test drove for only 10 miles, but the results are VERY good ! Very strong throughout the rev range.
The 2,5 krpm hesitation is gone, but so far no time for adapting, so I can't really say if it's gone for good. Sully, Alan - I'll let you on Monday after my 350 mile drive to work.
Another thing I noticed, the fuel pressure bleeds off after about a minute from engine shut down (have permanent gauge). Is this normal?
Also, the hooter valve can not hold full boost (stock) if the manifold ("vacuum") pipe is disconnected. I can hear it pass every second or so. Any comments, anyone?
Alan (Luxemburg), have you checked or replaced the hooter valve? It should close/open at about 200mbar vacuum, which is about 3mm left from 0 on my boost gauge. Maybe your idle/ slight throttle problems are a hunting/leaking hooter valve? Just a thought....
Regards,
Tapani
