Unless you see pitting or scoring on the pumps moving parts (I even forget what it looks like...) or the parts they directly touch, I wouldn't worry about it.
If you're really, really worried about it, remove the distributor, and locate a hex rod (I believe that's what's used...) the same size as the oil pump drive shaft, and longer than it, and use your drill to pre-oil the motor and/or check pressure...
Short of shearing the drive shaft, I haven't heard of Saab oil pumps going bad on their own.
