This forum is directed towards the Saab model 99 cars that were produced in the 70's. You want the forum for the 'Old Generation' or OG 9-3 (as opposed to the current 9-3, the 'Sport Sedan', or 9-3 SS).

However, depending on if you have an automatic or manual trans, there are probably some things that need to be done to make sure your car is set up correctly to flat tow. You have to have the ignition key not in the 'lock' position to have the shifter in neutral, and you want to make sure that the ECU doesn't freak out from reading a wheel speed signal when the car is shut off, so the car doesn't think it's being stolen and activate the alarm, or the immobilizer.

Would be best directed towards a dealer, or try the other forum, I imagine there are other people who do the same thing.

That being said, I am positive they can be flat towed, just double check to be safe the procedure you have to follow to do it.
