I am experiencing a hunting up and down, with the 74; and it is lacking pep. It idles at 1800 rpms, and if I punch the pedal, it goes down to 1000 and slowly raises back to 1800 rpms. Eventually, it began misfiring, and the plugs were carbon fouled. After cleaning the plugs, it started right up. then these syptoms again
A hesistation under way.../ hunting,
The grounds by the battery were checked.
The exhaust from the tail pipe smells a bit too rich, and leave a slight soot on the concrete
I am a bit confused on how to set the throttle switch. Is the theory of 20 clicks from the throttle switch after placing the ignition on, correct?
I get 18 clicks.
any tips/ideas would be great.
Can I expect a smoothness, smooth idle, acceleration with D jet; hopefully when it is all sorted.
I wish to avoid the 16valve transplant. Thanks
