The fuel pump fuse on my '75 always ran hot. It would slowly sag until one end of the wire lost contact and stopped passing current, even though it looked good. A friend acquired a '78 99T that had a bad socket on the fuse box (I suspect the one on the '75 is marginal and is causing the fuse to overheat). I could get the Turbo's pump to run if I hotwired direct from the battery to the output side of the relay, but putting a jumper across the two relay contacts as outlined in the manuals didn't work because the power wasn't getting from the fuse to the input side of the relay. Swapped out the fuse box and the car started right up. The engine and gearbox were about the only good things about that car though. It had really been abused.
