I decided to get historical plates for the '73 since I rarely drive it. Paid $37 and they expire in 2050, but of course I can only drive it in parades or to car shows, which isn't really a problem. There was a local show yesterday, so after work Saturday(10pm) I stayed up till almost 1am cleaning and polishing. I hopped in the car about 11am to head to the show, and noticed the car was driving oddly > then realized I had a sticking front brake. I drove on in hopes of at least getting to the show, but pulled over about a mile from home, got out of the car, and found the left front was smoking. Back home I went, and by the time I got there, the caliper was glowing red hot (oh my!). I jacked the car quickly and pulled the wheel, hoping the heat didn't damage the freshly painted wheel. I was fortunate it didn't, but parts looking like they need replacing include > one outer wheel bearing, grease seal, caliper, brake hose, outer CV boot, and the lower ball joint boot, plus the backing plate and knuckle will need repainted.
I'm guessing the hose check-valved on me, cus no fluid would flow from it until I cut it back to the mounting point.
