If it has the steel "bill", I don't think it is supposed to look anything like the 5 speed cover. The duck bills are not dime a dozen so both of my 5 speed 99s are done with that steel bracket, modified to fit the 900 5sp. cover. I'll post pics when I get back home to my computer. I'm a bit confused with what you actually have. The steel bracket "bill" went on the gearboxes that had, rather than a chain drive, three gears, their forms visible in the cover's casting. SOmeone tell me there were exceptions out there.
