Then I may have not attempted this detailing task. About 4 hours into it I was doubting it would look OK, and I was prepared to prime and spray bomb it red. Now I have about 7-8 hours of intense finger stroking, and it's almost done(except for a few coats of clear). It looked like they used a galvanized metal, so to make the polishing work, that coating had to be removed. Lots of 80 grit, then 220, then finished with 400. Sanding the sides and around the mounting brackets took forever plus the metal was pitted under the coating, ugh! Steel polishes up, but not as easy as aluminum. Pictures never do shiny metal any justice.
