Baab, I'll try to look when I get home - I seem to recall a "core" cylinder head on the barn shelf, but not sure if it's Turbo or NA. The differences are that the Turbo head has sodium filled exhaust valves and a different camshaft profile (some will say that a Turbo engine runs better with the NA cam profile). If you are "building" a cylinder head it is best to put in new valve seats since one issue with the Turbo is wear of the exhaust valve seats. If possible, you want your machine shop to use valve seats intended for natural gas engines - it's the most resistant to wear. The sodium-filled exhaust valves themselves also need to be carefully checked - there are two versions and the earlier ones are prone to stretch at the throat even to the point of dropping the head of the valve which of course leads to bad things happening to your engine. New valves are kind of hard to find at this point but if you can get them then that's best. There is also a modification recommended by Jack Lawrence to cross-drill the valve guides to provide better lubrication because the guides also tended to wear. Anyway, I will try to look for a head in my collection and let you know - if you don't hear back in a few days please feel free to remind me!
Best,
Gary
