Greetings Tspoto!
Very exciting that you have a 1969 99, I'm envious. So much cool "one year only" stuff, and so few of those cars survived.
I believe that the 1.7 and 1.85 Triumph engines used at Delco distributor. I feel like I often see parts for those (cap, rotor, points, condenser) available on eBay as they are shared with the Triumph applications. You might try looking for what fits an early TR-7 - I haven't tried it, but I'd bet it's the same. If not, I'm sure someone on this forum can correct me :-)
That said, I wonder why you want to change to Pertronix? There was kind of a need with the 2-strokes as they really need the hottest possible spark (although I still run my '64 with the points/condenser ignition and have never had any problems other than the original wires arcing when wet). Overall, a points/condenser system is pretty robust and reliable, and I feel like on the 4-cyl engine once you get it set up properly it should work fine with minimal maintenance. You do need a good condenser and good wires, but I'm not sure it's worth your effort to try to install the Pertronix. My 2 cents, I don't doubt that it would work fine too. I believe that it retains the vacuum advance and centrifugal advance functions of the original system, so it's worth checking those out to make sure they are working properly. I have never worked on the Delco distributor, but I've had to rebuild a lot of later Bosch distributors where the advance mechanism got gummed up and would not move. The engine runs pretty poorly when that happens.
Best of luck, and I hope to hear more about your '69 and see it one of these days!
