1975 EMS fuel tank removal Posted by hillofbeans [Email] (#2528) [Profile/Gallery] (more from hillofbeans) on Sat, 4 Apr 2020 16:24:12 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
Hello all! Got a quick question. Trying to remove a 75 EMS fuel tank. Long sitting car. Want to clean system from back to front. I've removed the vent tubes, filler tube, sender electrical plug, accumulator lines, and straps on bottom. Still it just hangs there without budging. What am I missing? The fuel pump is attached to the tank itself right? I don't have to remove the ring that secures the fuel pump right? I tried to search for some info here but didn't come up with much. In one post I found this: "I have also heard that the older metal tanks are semi-glued into the car and are a bear to remove even though I have never personally tried to remove one." Is it possible it is semi glued in? I don't want to go prying on a good metal tank if I don't have to. Thanks for any info!
