During that snow and ice we had a few weeks ago, there were high temperatures in eastern Oregon of below zero. It was 9F in Troutdale at the west end of the Columbia Gorge with winds gusting up to 60mph at times.
I have a couple of the plastic 99 heater housings out of cars that I've stripped, and have thought of figuring out a way to install a 95/96 heater core in place of the relatively useless one in the 99. The 95/96 heater core is massive. In most weather, you barely crack the heater valve open and there is enough heat to steam rain water off the windshield.
