You are really limiting yourself if you were only looking at 74/75 3-doored 99's, and might actually have a hard time finding one, as most have probably already went to the crusher years ago. If you scope out the classifieds, the only three door 99's listed are 78 turbos, the rest are all 2 door notchbacks(which I am partial to).

I also think if you wanted to 16V a 99 for track events, the 2 door notchback is stiffer than the 3 door and has less body flex. Even if you opted for a 16V 99 3 door, you are still creating a Hp monster of a car.
