So the people I bought the car from said the engine "turned over". I've been a bit busy of late to post, but I had been working on the car in the driveway last week trying to get it to start. Finally got power to the starter, and it just clicked > so I tried to spin the flywheel by hand, and it wouldn't budge. I removed the spark plugs, and #2 and #3 had so much build-up on the elctrodes, you could barely see them. It's a rusty colored deposit, so I was thinking head gasket failure/cracked head? filled the cylinders with water and seized the lower end.

I anticipated alot of work with this car, but the discovery stage is making the list longer.

Engine of unknown condition: head work, rings, pistons, bearings
Turbo: I almost got it removed, but still don't know if it's any good
Tranny condition still unknown: but I have a spare 4spd and 5spd
Upper A-arm bushings are gone(mice ate them?)
Engine bay wiring is bastardized: extra wires, broken plug connectors, missing alternator, a few chewed wires
Heater valve is removed and hoses run to bypass it
Fuel system: I barely bumped a line by one of the injectors and it snapped off :( > I also tried to get the injectors to spray earlier on, but jumping the relay and raising the sensor plate did nothing. Possible fuel pump failure > I have a spare or two in the basement of un-known condition.
AC is removed: Just one more system I'd rather not have to deal with.

My boss mentioned I could use the shop to work on it, so I think I'll take her up on the offer and finish stripping the car there. Sure beats trying to restore this thing in my driveway, cus we're getting snow this weekend > and rain in the forecast for the next ten days.

So much for a daily driver/rolling restoration. Looks like I'll have to source some parts, re-build the engine, paint the engine bay, install engine and TRY to get it running, then do the rest of the body and paint.
