I've replaced the power cable from the transfer connection to the starter (remember this is a 16V conversion) and checked all grounds. The power cable at the transfer did not seem as snug as It should be and there was evidence of "arcing" at that point. Since the change, no problems and much quicker startups. I think with all the moisture and the fact that the wrecking yard that had my car after my recent accident had disconnected that cable, may have allowed a little build up? Anyway, though I still want to replace the fuse box and continue checking things out, It seems that my main problem was a somewhat loose power cable. I hope that helps.
