Good evening all,
Well, I finally got around to tinkering with my volvo 240 turbo injection swap this week. After quite a bit of fooling around with line pressure and idle mix the car runs pretty darn good. I am having a little trouble starting it but nothing serious. The bottom line for anyone else trying to do this is you have to swap the warm up regulator, AMM, and fuel dist. Additionally there is very minor electrical work if you want to use the volvo modulator valve. Fuel line mods are also required but again not that extensive. You might remember from my previous post on this subject that I am doing this to get more fuel flow capacity. I have not yet been able to test this by turning up the boost b/c the boost enrichment feature on the volvo warm up regulator isnt working 100% yet. I believe after these parts sat for a few years they need to be run a while to remove the crud. The symptom I am having is at about 7psi of boost the mix starts to lean slightly in an very eradic fashion. In other words it fluctuates from lean to normal a few times a second. The more I drive the car though the less it does this. Hopefully after running a tank or two of gas through the system it will work itself out. I will let everyone know when and if I get to crank up the boost or not. take care!
