Adrian, use penetrating oil in the holes where the cover bolts were, the cover can take some moderate tapping with a hammer, from underneath the spout. The cover will eventually rock when it breaks free (er) do tap down too while getting it loose. when it moves perceptically up, wedge a small driver blade in the gap in the cover nearest the head, then tap dowm on the spout. this will rock or teedertodder the cover up on the far side (head) then place wedge again near head side and tap from bottom. 77 is a fine tooth idler and sucess rate for water pump is not good even with saab tools. Most important is to lock the impellor while securing the nut installing the impellor. I only recomend pulling the auxillary shaft first, yes pull the motor, then installing the pump. Please review all the b motor water pump diasters on this forum. Pease use the long route. Don.
