First things first, I don't know if John wants his name associated with that particular car. Mike Lee came up with some nice solutions but wasn't much for details. You got a steal considering what you paid compared to what you got. (as a second note, I probably had more dealings with that car than John. I did the headliner, installed that moonroof, installed the glass (which I hear mike never really sealed) and helped install the engine, and other bits. I'm sure most has been redone since as I know the tranny was replaced or repaired.
Anyway, those early moonroofs were a bit tempermental but boy were they cool. I wish I'd have known he'd accept what you paid as I would have found the money somehow. Lucky you.
I'm slighly confused about the trim you are looking for. I'll see what I can find as I know a friend here In SC that had to remove his slider because instead of repairing it, a previous owner just welded it shut. The result is now a sliding canvas top that carries some cool factor as well.
