Saabers:
I know this topic has been mentioned many times, yet can someone provide a step by step, clear link with photos of this converison. My 99 is a gle, hence it has power steering. Years ago, I tried this conversion, and had to scrap the car as I was so frustrated. I had placed an engine from a 900 Turbo along with the five speed. My problems were clearance issues, and the engine not sitting properly. Although, the car drove, it shook, and would strike the power steering rack. I had cut out the fire wall and rewelded one about an inch back. At the end, I had a clearance between the hood and the head about 1/r an inch. Below, about three eighths clerance between the tranny and crossmember. ( also had cut this member and used 16 guage to imporve clearance. I had used 900 mounts on both sides, and had cut the fron crossmember to lower the engine. The handling on the car was terrible. The alternator and booster clearance ..about 1/4 of an inch. The belts..impossible to replace
Simply curious. I may just rebuild my B motor
Thanks
