charging problem 99 GLE

Hello,
My 1977 Saab 99 GLE 5 door does have some battery charging problems. Having bought this completely restored car 1 year ago, I replaced the alternator and battery at the time by new ones (the old alternator and battery were 2 years old). Last week all of a sudden the charging light went on and after 2 hours the battery was dead. By giving direct power to the yellow wire on the alternator, the alternator seems to work again but only at 12,8 Volts. (enough to get home). I check the ground wire which seems to be connected well.
At home I have charged the battery, which seems be to in perfect condition still. I replaced the alternator (again) by a new one, but the problem remains exactly the same. Having the alternator finally give an output of 12,8, it will be an output of zero when hitting the road.
Any suggestions how to deal with this problem?
Thom
