Hi Doug,

I had a leak in the same section - it looks like the soft rubber section before the actual hard line - although there's a metal fitting that is crimped on to the end of the rubber.

I had a leak in the rubber section as well - even if yours is leaking from the hard plastic line, I have to say the rubber section doesn't look too healthy either - anyway, maybe you know about this solution already, but in case you didn't...

You can get compression fittings that will let you put a new connection on the end of the hard plastic line after you cut off the broken part. he compression fitting will give you a threaded end - you can then thread on a new brass nipple to put the (hopefully new) rubber hose on to go the rest of the way to the tank return (or the check valve if you decide to keep it). That way you don't have to worry about having a rubber hose fabricated with a crimped on nipple.

I can send you a photo of my solution if you like, or if you want I can also try to reconstruct the exact bits I used - but I figured it out by taking a little piece of hard line and the rubber section (what was left of it) to a machine shop that also does some line and hose fabrication.

It isn't a lot of pressure in the line, but it leaks profusely enough if there's a hole.
