Hi everyone.
I have:
1)78 99T that has a stripped interior and a rollbar installed, plugged fuel tank return(see my earlier posts) so it won't get low enough control pressure for the CIS to function correctly. It has a 5spd. The engine was rebuilt with a new turbo 10 years ago, 300 miles ago. The guy doing it realized he would have to race against Supras and abandoned the project.

2)76 99LE with good paint but has been used for parts (front brakes, axles, shifter, etc gone) that would be perfect to receive the 99T drivetrain and a 900 interior upgrade (blue leather from a '90 900s) and a 900 suspension. It is cream-colored, and would make a perfect sleeper.

3)76 EMS that has been brutally abused by previous owner that I can use for parts to get a NA 99 going in either of the above. I also have a vast array of 900 parts cars.

4)1993 son (birthday 1 week ago) who likes the 99T looks, likes the idea of manual steering so sisters won't want to drive it, and has 2 years to get it going.

I want my kids to learn to drive in a saab, but not a turbo (at least not a turbo that goes like my '85 does!). What I am considering is to take the drivetrain from the 99T and put it in the '76LE, and then take a NA 99 engine with a 99T 4spd and put it in the 99T (I had this exact combination [except with a '74 longblock] in the early 90's and had a lot of fun with it) for my son to drive. All of the above are basically rust-free Texas cars (SMALL rust areas in the corner of sunroof, bottom corner of door, but nothing major).

Any suggestions (or comments about holes in my head) would be appreciated. I have done the 99T-into-99ems style conversion before, but have no real experience in how hard a 99T bites (I could always back off the wastegate, I guess...) What would you do?
