I use my 1975 4 door 99LE to carry heavy loads on a daily basis on one hand, and drive the car hard and fast from time to time on the other.
During the years I had played with the susoesion system, and got to a great configuration:
Upfront, the original springs exist eith late model 900 A arms. There is a 900Aero (SPG) anti roll bar and 20 mm Aluminium spacers above the springs to compensate for the lowering that came when installing the anti roll bar. Whhel allignment was altered to a camber of -0.5 and a castor of +1.5
At the rear I have a post 1979 axle with its' trailing arms, 900Aero anti roll bar, but the original Panhard rod. The springs are from a 99Combi, and stiffened with extre after market coils inside, supported into place with Saab V4 trnsmission spacers. The extre coils have the same effect as Saab's accesory of the air cushions from the 70s and 80s that were inserted inside the rear springs.
Shock absorbers are Konis all round, and thupper mounts for the front ones will be upgraded very soon by the same method that was done the the official Saab 99T Rally.
The car holds the road by far better than any stndard Saab 99' C900' NG900 and 9000, while the gruond clearance is a little higher than stock 99s. The car is still very comfortable after all chnges done to it.
