I would seriously suggest either accepting your fate or have an aftermarket system put in. If done right, it shouldn't leak. Having the later stock saab version grafted on will obviously increase weight, decrease headroom and will quite possibly leak as well. For someone to properly do this, I would suggest the pillar splice as well. Welding sheet metal is always a risky deal. with something that large the chances for warpage and wobble are high. The stock moonroof is nice but it is not the most amazing thing out there. The risk of trashing your apparently sound car would far outstrip the benefits of having a hatch about one's head. I have a '76 EMS that I was hoping would have the early moonroof but the more I think about it, knowing the maintenance issues and impossibility in finding parts, I suppose I lucked out getting the solid top. Good luck either way let us see pics when you get is sorted out.
