Hi, My 1974 99 was sitting since 1991 in the same place. I got it about 2 months ago, and believe it or not, it has been my daily driver since then, YES DAILY DRIVER!!!!! Its too much fun to drive anything else. Anyways.. I like the "What kind of car is that" question that I get all the time.
I added 5 gallons of 93 octane gas into the tank, cleaned the connections at the fuel pump relay(wasnt coming on) and somehow managed to get it started to drive it home(Only about 1/4 mile) The next few days of playing in the driveway involved changing every rubber hose on the car. They were all dryrotted. I also had to replace the fuel and brake lines under the carpet. They run inside the car on the driver's side. I did an oil change and tune up, and carried a spare fuel filter with me, and I have been driving it since, with just a few little hickups.
I am a mechanic by trade, and have always figured with old vehicles, that the bottom line is that it is a hunk of metal, and it will run again with the right motivation.
