The tail of the hatchback and the sedan are different. I don't think a sedan bumper is wide enough for a hatch, and a sedan would look funky with a hatch bumper, assuming it would bolt up, which I'm not entirely sure it would.
From a fit standpoint, all of the "big bumpers" should fit any car of the same body style (all fronts are the same, though) from whenever they introduced them (72?) to the end. But Saab changed the trim several times over the years. Early ones had a 20mm stainless strip, late 70s were a wider strip with silver edges and black center, and the really late ones were a very thin chromed plastic strip. There may also have been body style variants within model years.
