Well, it's my new runabout and it doesn't want to do a whole lot of running. '74 EMS with a few problems. Some solved, but now it won't run after being warmed up. Checked the various systems and replaced points, plugs, condenser, etc. That helped for a bit but after a 40 mile run now it won't pull out of the driveway. After chugging thru the warm-up, the engine quits, after waiting a moment it restarts without complaint. However after 5-10 seconds it stalls. If, immediately after hitting the starter, you open the throttle it will get to about 2000 rpm but then shortly stalls. Any later opening of the throttle causes an immediate stall.

The thermo switches are at the correct resistance/specs, the plugs smell like fuel and are already getting carbon coated, the throttle switch (after cleaning) tests out just fine. The manifold pressure sensor tests correctly across one set of leads, the other two are a bit mysterious. Initially there is a record of resistance then it goes to infinity. The local saab shop had a couple of used ones that tested out similarly. Any suggestions out there for diagnosing the errant element? (Other than finding a weber carb?) Thanks in advance---George
