Depending upon where the car has been used, you will want to inspect the under side for rust damage, particularly the rockers along the seam witht he floor and the bottom of the suspension towers. Also check the spring and shock mounts and the tops of the inner front fenders, above the springs. Early cars rotted because there was a closed box there, but by '71 they had put at hole through the inner fender, which allowed sealing/painting the inside of the box. Check the trunk floor seams.
All of these are repairable with welding in new sheet metal but you at least want to know what you're getting.
Do a compression check on the engine and listen for strident noises from the transmission when you drive it.
If it's really a factory orange '71, it would be a Rally 96 homologation special. They had to build a certian number of the reinforced bodies in order to run them as production cars. I think some body parts are heavier sheet metal and the spot welds on the seams are closer together.
