If I was asked about specific parts I might know if they were used by others, but in general SAAB parts are fairly exclusive (unlike Volvo, which used a lot of readily available American parts after WW-II). Most of what I know about interchanges is stuff I learned years ago when I was working as a mechanic and had access to what are now quite old parts books. For instance rear wheel bearings for a 96 interchange with a Fiat 850 and an MG-TC. But things like wheel bearings and seals can be purchased most inexpensively at a bearing supplier using the international numbers (usually stamped or etched into the bearing race and molded into the outer surface of seals). I just did front wheel bearings and seals on a 96 for under $100 for both sides. Most brake parts are pretty exclusive to SAAB except for the 95/96/97 rear wheel cylinders, which as I recall interchange with a Mini, and GT caliper rebuild kits are the same as MG. Some Bosch ignition parts (points, plugs, condensor, rotor, cap) were used by other makes as well, but major things like distributors, starters, alternators are fairly specific to SAAB, unless V-4 components were used on Taunus engines as well. I was once told that a 6-cylinder Falcon clutch was a good heavy duty clutch for a V-4, but I never had specific part numbers. The 1700cc V-4 shares a lot of parts with the V-6 Capri, or they can be adapted and there are some FoMoCo carb parts that interchange with the Pinto 2000 (that d**ned decel valve diaphragm for one, if you haven't disabled it). I doubt that the distributor for a Triumph is the same as the early 99s used because Brit cars probably used Lucas and SAAB used Bosch. I think wiper motors were similar to those used by some other manufacturers, but I'm not sure if they directly interchange.

If there are specific parts you need, it might be just as well to probe the collective wisdom of the various e-mail lists and bulletin boards.
