Thanx a mill. Spiv! Now how do I find out if my clutch pedal goes to the
floor without any resistance other than the pedal return spring, because of
a bad master cylinder, or because of a bad slave cylinder? I took the engine out about 500 miles back to replace a bad con-rod bearing, (turned
out it was a broken valve spring!), and then parked it to fix a water leak, (see previous post), The clutch was working fine before I fixed the
leak, but when I fired it up, the clutch pedal floored and i almost ground
reverse teeth off before I realized the clutch wast'n activating. I had never fooled with the slave cylinder before, but read the manual and found the slave bleeder valve. Fluid seemed to come out of the bleeder but the
action didn't improve. the hose from M.C. > slave seems intact without leaks. Manual scares me with warning: brake fluid has to sit 24 hours without shaking, (no bubbles)! I ordered a slave repair kit, thinking that
wheel cyls go out more often than M.C.'s, but need some Zen to get up for the project.
