The front windsheild can be a tough job! do you have the old rubber intact? I have done two with old rubber and one with new rubber. the old is easy with a helper. You just use a small cord after you have the whole thing put together with the aluminium strips.Set the window over the whole and have a friend work the outside to keep things straight and apply a little pressure as you pull the string out of the rubber groove and over the steel edge. Then I would put winshield ueraathane behind the rubber to seal out the water. That is what teh pllumber type putty was doing. Bill
