What is interesting is that everyone has his/her favorte engine. I have been driving Saabs over twenty five years.
Some will say the two stroke is not adequate, some would say a V4 is pig iron. Some I heard say that B engine is terrble. H engine and so on...
In my humble opinion, It all depends on what engine you choose to fall in love with. and how you care for it. All engines have there drawbacks. The two stroke is slow off the line. Anyone who enjoys swift speed will more than likely not tolerate the sluggishness of a two cycle...bottom line. Anyone who love quiet smoothness and refinement wont like the v4. (I have operated correcty rebuilt V4's and they do not compare to the mid mileage 2.3 smoothness. I think everyone has a good point.
The major question would be how do you PREVENT a two stroke from seizeing?
What should be the maintenance?
