I think I remember seeing that 99 seats should directly fit 95/96, but they are going to be hard to find in good shape. My own 95 had Volvo seats when purchased, I think from a 240, only modest modifications had been done to make them fit. Now it has more comfortable seats from a (gasp) Colt Vista Wagon, it was a bit of a task to fit them but not insurmountable. Those were the choice for no compelling reason except it was the best-condition set I could find in the U-Pull junkyard for $50. The problem with fitting those Colt seats was that the inside rails (to center of car) were mounted on the drive shaft tunnel not flat to the floor, so I had to invent spacer blocks to get the outside rails up to the same level to match the Saab flat floor.
I think the moral is that with the possible exception of Saab 99, there may not be any direct-fit seats; but with ingenuity almost any seats can be made to fit. In all cases you will want to remove the seats and tracks as a unit from the donor vehicle, that is how I have always done it. Plugging some holes in the floor and drilling others will probably be necessary. Trying to put donor seats onto the existing track mechanism is probably a recipe for unnecessary grief.
If you are not unhappy with the crude original seats, of course you can get new covers, foam, etc and maintain a semblance of originality. However you will probably sit more comfortably in some upgraded ones from another vehicle. If you want a set of original seats from my '69 model 95, you are welcome to them for the cost of shipping, rails, headrests, and all.
