Well I got the car out of 4th gear and attemped to adjust the gear linkage, thinking maybe the problem was the gearshift linkage. Drove the car after that for a bit and got stuck in 4th again but got it out 5 minutes later. Since then I have played around with adjusting the gearshift linkage not really knowing where it should be exactly. I kept adjusting and then driving and it seems that the car now grinds gears when you shift into 3rd gear. If you dont engage 3rd gear right away it will slip right in but it always grinds when downshifted. Anyone have any ideas what is wrong?
