If your original carb was a FoMoCo, there's not much involved in the linkage change, as the linkage already turns in the correct direction. You need to get the adjustable throttle arm for the carb (comes with it if you buy the kit from West of Sweden, or you can get it separately from Pierce Manifolds and probably other places.) Then you just mock it up, adjust the throttle arm to a position where it gives full travel, and bolt everything together.
Depending on how your coolant lines are plumbed (different years are slightly different) you may have a bit of a squeeze to get the fuel line around the bypass hose. You also may need to cap or reroute some vacuum lines depending on whether your car has the distributor with the dual-chamber vacuum advance or the single-chamber one. Basically, that's about it.
If your car originally had a Solex carb, the linkage is set up to turn in the opposite direction and you'll have to reverse it to make it work. You also may need to twist the rod a bit to get it to go through its full range of travel. I've only done one Solex so don't know as much about what's involved.
If you have a non-stock or other potential "problem" engine installation, or just want to make sure you're prepared for every possibility, I'm told that Jack Ashcraft sells a very comprehensive instruction book about installing the 34ICH.
I've got some pictures here of my most recent 34ICH installation, but haven't gotten them polished up for the 'net yet. If I get around to it soon, I'll post.
