2-stroke retrofit?

The v-4 in my 67 96 is at the end of its rope, so I have to do something to get it back out on the road again. I have a radiator and a tranny laying around that's supposedly out of an 850 Monte Carlo, but who knows? Anyway, I'm thinking, why not put a 2-stroke in there? Question is, Is that crazy and can you even find one? Has anyone tried this one before?
thanks!
