"Does anyone know the differences, or better yet if there are any, in the 1965-80 Triumph TR4A, TR250, TR6 lever shocks and those of a 1970 Saab 95?"
I have a '69 95 which is the same as yours. If memory serves, the shocks themselves are identical but the lever arm between the shock and the body link is different. I claim no Triumph expertise but that is how I remember it.
"The reason I ask is because I would like to convert the lever shocks to Spax adjustables. There are reasonble kits on fleeBay and the brackets look identical to those that Jack A. sells..."
I converted mine a few years ago. It was a labor-intensive process but not expensive in dollars if you have a lot of time and understand the stresses involved. In my case connection at the body (upper) end involved a lot of reinforcement for me to have confidence in the setup. I am not familiar with Spax adjustables. I think I ended up with the KYB version of the original 96 shock, after searching many alternatives, but I would have to search my pile of records to verify and specify a part number.
Depending on your ability, if you want to invent your own as I did, prepare to spend a lot of time reinventing the wheel. If you want to install a proven product, Ashcraft is the guy. Everybody complains about his pricing except those who use his products and information.
How about a link to the Spax adjustables?
