Jack Ashcraft's book is entitled V4 Engine Maintenance Manual. There may be other books with differing but similar titles, I don't know. I have not seen this particular book but have seen much other of Jack's work. You will not go wrong. His information is geared to real-life owners, not professional mechanics as is the factory manual, which will omit much information that will help you. If you want to rebuild your own engine, with specialized stuff being done by a competent machine shop of course, this will be the book. http://pages.prodigy.net/jackashcraft/saabbooks.html

I would also recommend you get a Haynes manual which covers the whole car, but for rebuilding, rely on Jack's advice and study the Haynes manual as well to round out your understanding. Haynes #194, out of print but readily available through Abebooks, Powell's, ebay, your local used bookstore.
