Instrument cluster ground point?

I pulled the clock out of my '72 95 to clean and adjust it. With it out of the circuit I've started having what look like intermittent ground issues with the instrument cluster -- the temp gauge pegs out, the instrument lights go out, and the high beams switch on their own. This suggests to me that there's a problem with the ground point for the instrument cluster, and that it was previously grounding through the clock's mounting bracket.
The problem is I can't find the cluster ground point. The wiring diagram shows everything grounding through the speedometer, but I can't find where the speedometer grounds to the chassis. Where is it supposed to ground to?
