My first car ever, back in high school, was a '69 96. I drove the crap out of it and it kept coming back for more. Had VSaab's ever since (30 years and counting).
So I consulted two separate manuals I have for the two stroke cars and both have electrical schematics that are near impossible to read. Even with my old man +1.75 glasses on! Plus they don't label things very clearly- no label for which one the charge light is, or what the connections are called on the generator (B+, D+, Df, etc). After a half hour of squinting, I'm going to throw in the towel.
One of the manuals did have a nice clear schematic of just the generator/regulator circuit, as well as one for the alternator/regulator for the later cars. The latter clearly showed the charge light connected between the D+ connection and a switched B+ connection. The generator circuit, sadly, did not show the charge light. However, I would GUESS that the charge light would connect between the same two points for the generator- D+ (either on the regulator or the generator- they connect together) to a switched B+ connection on the fuse block. But I don't know 100% for sure.
Any of you two stroke guys able to confirm this?

ps- if no one confirms, I know a couple of two stroke experts that I can email privately and get to the bottom of this for you.
