Just a wild guess, but you guys have been so helpful I wanted to contribute. I had a similar problem on my TR3. There was a small bubble of air still in the master cyl. Had a friend depress the clutch when it was acting up, and purged it at the master cyl hose by cracking the fitting loose under pressure. Protect the paint with wet rags unless you use synthetic fluid.
