One other resource is on the "Performance 96" website in the UK. Search for this and you'll find an amazing trove of VSaab performance treasures. There's a nice table of carb settings vs carbs. It's only for the 1500 engine, as that's what's normally available in the UK, but it's another data point. And you can see comparisons between the different Weber carbs- the 32/36 vs the 36/36 for example, and see what they recommend for differences.
I have a 32/36 on one of my Sonetts. I bought it from another Saab expert and bolted it on. I've never had it apart and it seems to work just fine. No idea what's in it for components.
I met a fellow this summer that has had problems with the two barrel Weber setup. Seems as if the fuel in the carb boils after shutdown and runs into the cylinders. He thought it was the main reason he burned a piston. Others claim to have the same problem. I never have and one reason is that I run a colder thermostat- the 160 degree version. Could be that makes all the difference. Just be forewarned of a possible fuel boiling problem.
