The Sonett gearbox has a slightly higher final gear ratio than the 96, due to a higher ring and pinion ratio. So your speedo will be off slightly.
Other than that, you have to swap the top cover over from the 96, as the gear linkage comes off the other side. Very simple to swap them over. No need for a gasket, just use blue RTV to seal.
I have a Sonett gearbox in my 96, as I wanted the slightly higher ratio. I think it reads 4 mph slow at 55.
