A little late but I wanted to add.
You absolutely need to do the rope in method. I would do it on a warm/hot day so the rubber is nice and lose. I did mine in the winter and it sucked.
Also get those seals really lubed up with water and soap.
I think you absolutely need two people.
you put the seal on and then rope the edge into the windshield.
I did not have great success with getting the metal trim retainer in. It's in and it's OK but it's not perfect.
