71 96 V4 CARB/ AIR CLEANER

/ I bought a 71 V4. Unfortunately, it's missing the whole air cleaner assembly!! To make matters worst, the automatic choke is not there. So for the past week, I've been closing the air flap on the carb manually to get the car started. ( Sometimes it takes a long time to start) When the car warms up, I open the carb flap. Now my question is should the flap be open fully. When I opened and the flap fully, the engine dies when I come to a stop, yet If I open it partially, ( almost closed)the engine does not. In the proper setting, what position is the flap in when the engine is cold and when the engine is warm. When shutting the car off, should the pedal be pumped to prime the carb? Where can I get an automatic choke? Lastly, where can I find a air cleaner assembly (any aftermarket sources?) I know I asked a million questions, but I really need help. Thanks
