You will need a front chain cover from a 1980 or newer Saab 99. If you are good at aluminum welding, you can tack on the necessary lip to your 1978 chain cover instead. You will also need a stick shift from a 5 speed 900. The 900 shifter rod has to be shortened (you may be able to move over the rod from your current 4 speed shifter). The rest is business as usual.
