I've had my Saab for a couple of years now, and I know the basics of automotive care.. but lately it's been running like a dog. I need to give it gas when I start it upo amd keep my foot on it, or it stalls. It sounds like the engine is idling really low, and trying to kick into a higher idle. it's almost like the cylinders aren't moving at the same speed (Or something).. has anyone had this problem? I'd like to take the car to a mechanic, but noone up here really knows saabs, and this is a recurring problem. If I keep running it like this, the condenser and points will blow again. I'm not quite sure what is causing the problem, we did have a preytty cold winter though (I'm in Canada).
Also, I've lost an engine schema that I used to have, and I am out of something that isn't radiator fluid or oil. :) Doea anyone have something I can look at so I can top up my car? Or I can draw a sketch. I don't know alot about cars, but I'm always eager to learn.
The thing that is empty is a round resevoir that is in front of the radiator overflow tank. The cap isn't held down with any clasps, and when I open it, there's a metal basket inside. I believe the fluid in it used to be either red or pink, but I could be mistaken. I remember it being very viscous. Someone once told me what this was for, but for the life of me I can't remember.
I love my Saab, and I want to keep it running until it dies.. and then I'll restore it :D Thanks!
I'll try to check back, but if anyone can Cut and paste their response via email, that would rock.
Amy
