Dear John.
The way I see it you have three choises. (As most people here already have pointed out)
1. CRAFT THE 900-FRONT ONTO THE 99-RESTOFTHEBODY.
-That would make a... 900. As in, -it doesnt matter if you use the rear end of a 99 or a 900, they are IDENTICAL. (Some changes were done over the years, though)
2. BUY A 900 Aero/SPG/16S, MODIFY IT, AND THROW AWAY THE OTHER CARS.
-Boooooooring!!! Anyone can do that, it just takes a little money.
3. KEEP THE 99. STUFF THE 16V AND "all the other goodies" INTO IT.
-Now that would really earn you credit on these bulletin pages. (Otherwise you'd have to move over to the "classic 900"-bulletin pages)
How much "proper room" does your 16V engine require? Such engines has been shoehorned into 99's before. If you're able to craft the 900-front onto the 99-rear, you're able to take the challenge of inserting a 16V + goodies into a 99. Besides, it's much more rewarding... :-)
What do you think?
PS. Nuts? Not the slightest. This is perfectly normal...
